Week 1 of the 2019 Education Mission at AZBGC

Wow! We can't believe we're already finished the first week of our Education Mission. This year, we have 2 new volunteers, Ryan and Michelle, from the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ottawa, and returning volunteers, Dr. Ruth Kane and ourselves, Julia Pilon and Rebecca Zunder. This past weekend was Easter and it was great to see all the kids, young and old, home from school. We had a delicious Easter lunch with traditional Ugandan food - thank you, Stella and Ayub! Ryan and Michelle have been teaching English and Science at St. Annes Ggoli Girls Primary School. They are covering everything from family trees and Canadian culture to cell division and the digestive system. It has been a busy week but they are really enjoying this experience. Julia and I have been teaching physical education to P1, 2 & 3 students at Kamengo Primary School.
